Police: Drunk Pa. man tried to revive dead opossum

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) - Police say they charged a Pennsylvania man with public drunkenness after he was seen trying to resuscitate a long-dead opossum along a highway.



State police Trooper Jamie Levier says several witnesses saw 55-year-old Donald Wolfe, of Brookville, near the animal Thursday along Route 36 in Oliver Township, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.



The trooper says one person saw Wolfe kneeling before the animal and gesturing as though he were conducting a seance. He says another saw Wolfe attempting to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.



Levier says the animal already had been dead a while.



The Associated Press could not locate a home telephone number for Wolfe.

Miracles 101:How to create them

A miracle is the impossible made possible. Experiencing or witnessing a miracle fills people with awe and awakens faith in a Higher Power and the possibility of divine intervention.



Are Miracles 'Real?'

Dictionaries and our relentlessly rational Western mind focus on the idea that a miracle has to be picked apart and 'proven' to defy scientific or rational analysis. And, whether you're talking about the miracles attributed to Jesus, Mohammed, and other avatars and spiritual masters, or even near death experiences, cynics and debunkers usually find a way to scoff at them.



For example, at least twice, Jesus was reported to have fed between 4,000 and 5,000 people by blessing, and then passing around a couple of loaves of bread and a few fish. To our modern minds, it seems likely that Jesus motivated people who already had food to share theirs, while the small contents of a single basket were passed around.



But even when hindsight provides a likely explanation, it cannot diminish the impact of that miracle, the solution to a dilemma that was beyond people's ability to imagine, and so seemed impossible to them.



Modern Miracles

Sometimes miracles happen in a moment, like spontaneous or hands-on healings. Sometimes they can take many years, such as when victims of crippling diseases or birth defects transcend their limitations and achieve greatness.



However miracles happen, here are some of their common ingredients:



Asking or Intending

Two of the most intractable social and political problems of the 20th century, persistent and painful reminders of humanity's propensity for separation and violence, were miraculously transformed within a year of each other, from 1989 to 1990. Both apartheid in South Africa and the Berlin Wall began to unravel after decades of seemingly hopeless diplomacy and struggle, at the same time. Why?



Probably because a bit more than two years earlier, on the first World Healing Day, December 31, 1986, literally millions of people across the globe gathered at the same moment in time -- not the same time of day, but the same moment, noon Greenwich Mean Time, 4am in Los Angeles, 3pm in Moscow -- to imagine a world at peace.



To make room for miracles in your life, you first need to have the courage to ask for help from a Higher Power, rather than simply deciding that a solution to your dilemma is impossible. And then, spend time imagining the result you want -- not how to get there, just the result -- and you will have created space for your miracle to take place.



Letting Go

Sure, sometimes God or the Universe or whoever is in charge of miracles, will wrestle whatever you're struggling with out of your grasp long enough to create a miracle for you. However, it makes the whole process easier if you just remember, after you've asked for a miracle, to let go.



Letting go means no peeking, no worrying, fully and freely placing your request in the hands of the larger forces of the Universe, and getting busy with something else.



It also means letting go of resistance. Healers often comment that it's far easier to heal animals, even to completely erase the presence of dangerous cancers, than it is to heal humans. Maybe it's because animals don't block miracles by believing that healing is impossible.



Faith or Trust

One of the reasons avatars or spiritual masters like Jesus and Mohammed were able to work miracles was their absolute faith in the divine force that makes the miracles possible.



In truth, all that's required is that you suspend disbelief long enough to let a miracle in, and to simply be willing to allow your Higher Power to create a real miracle, a solution to your 'impossible' dilemma that is beyond your ability to imagine.



And if you can learn to relax enough to trust that the Universe will provide you what you need when you need it -- all the time -- then you're home free.



Everyday Miracles

To make room for miracles in your own life, start noticing the small ones that are taking place all around you. Coincidence and synchronicity are small miracles. Sunshine after rain, spring birdsong, a huge thunderstorm, the birth of a child are all miracles.



But the biggest miracle of all is our beautiful blue planet, hung like a jewel in the vastness of space, teeming with life and beauty and miracles every day.

Because the Universal forces of fate, destiny, karma, free will, and the Law of Attraction are so intertwined, it's difficult to understand one completely until you have at least a basic idea of what the others mean. So, here's a primer:



Fate is what is in place at your birth, whether it's brown eyes or a troubling family. Fate is also created in this lifetime by choices you make -- the different routes you take into your future -- although this kind of fate is not immutable. Karma, based on the memories and experiences of your soul or eternal self, is what attracts challenges and opportunities, blessings and tragedies, with the intent of bringing past experiences and actions into balance.



The Law of Attraction not only turns the wheel of karma, it also brings into your life what you focus on most day-to-day, whether it's what you fear or what you long for.



What Is Destiny?

Your fate, your karma, and the Law of Attraction are all important ingredients of destiny. But the essential ingredient, the key that turns them into destiny, is the unique essence of who you are in this lifetime, right here, right now, and how it dictates the choices you make using free will. Destiny is what you weave from the threads of fate, karma, the Law of Attraction, and your vital, evolving dreams, desires, and goals. And, like you, your destiny evolves.



Say, for example, you were born under the sign of Virgo. That's your fate, a basic structure you live within. Suppose that you had a past life, where you were relentlessly and destructively critical of others, and your eternal self has decided to provide the opportunity to balance that Karma this time around by having you be a Virgo. Your destiny is created by choosing whether to use Virgo's ability to recognize when things are out of alignment to either belittle or heal people and situations in your life. Then the Law of Attraction brings you life circumstances based on your choice to use Virgo's gifts positively or negatively. And, thus, a part of your destiny is created.



Life Mission

People often get destiny and life mission confused, and view each one as a single, shining beacon of light and potential, which was put into place before your birth and illuminates your future, a kind of ultimate pass/fail life test. Although that belief can be both comforting and intimidating, it's not wholly accurate, because it doesn't take into account free will.



Your life mission is determined by your soul, and represents a stage in an ongoing, unfolding process of evolution during a series of lifetimes. For example, your soul may be exploring the idea of duality and balance, and has incarnated for several lifetimes on planet earth, whose two-sex way of propagating life sets up perfect laboratory conditions. Your life mission, as dictated by your soul, could be to immerse yourself in the experiences of duality, both positive and negative, through relationships, the dispensation of justice, or the reality-bending practice of politics.



It's not so much about doing and being, as it is about experiencing and then perfecting wisdom.



Soulmates, Soul Family, and Soul Ties

The concept of soulmates has come to be a kind of fuzzy romantic ideal, when it's actually a function of karma and soul development. What's crucial to remember is that even with soul contracts, free will and the Law of Attraction play a major part.



Sometimes you can recognize an intense soul connection, and believe passionately that you were meant to be together forever in this lifetime. Yet, you can be balked by circumstances. Perhaps the other person is using their free will to create a different destiny, one which does not involve a relationship with you. Or their soul has chosen to have only a short lifetime. In other words, your destiny can be affected by others' fate and free will.



Astrology, Numerology, and Psychics

Psychics, astrology, and numerology can all help you identify important components of your karma and destiny.



Psychics can see glimpses of your soul's intent, as well as what's waiting for you down the road you're traveling now, and suggest alternatives. Astrology can show broad karma, the basic ingredients of your character and the timing of pivotal events. Numerology also identifies building blocks of your character and karma, and reveals the dominant forces at work in various phases of your life. But you still have to add the essential ingredient -- free will. You get to choose. That's what it's all about!

Control vs. Trust

Healthy relationships are acheived when both partners have faith in each other and want the best for one another. This offers both security and safety. A controlling relationship, by contract, results when one partner seeks to dominate the other for their own selfish gain. These manipulators often have trust issues that stem back to childhood experiences with alcoholism, divorce, and insecurity. The only way these individuals feel safe is if they are in complete control of their relationships, or at least feel as if they are.



In a perfect world, control would never be an issue, because trust would be all we need. The problem is, in order to gain trust, you have to earn it, and there is no shortcut to gaining one's trust.



What is Trust?

If you consider the definition of trust by Confucianism, it is the outcome of overcoming selfishness by replacing the need to satisfy ourselves, with the need to satisfy others. Many controlling partners talk themselves into thinking they are attempting to change a partner for their own good, as a form of caring. The problem here, is that their reasoning is based on their our own needs, rather than the needs of the relationship.



Trust, in its most pure form, is the reciprocation of looking out for each other. In this scenario, a trusted partner in need of change, such as an alcoholic, would not desire to quit drinking by control, but rather as a self-made decision to protect their partner. Nowhere in the definition of trust to the Confucian do our own needs come into play -- unless you consider that while you are looking out for your partner's best interest, they should be looking out for yours.



Recognize the Controller

Controlling personalities often do not recognize their own behavior. Today's society has taught us that acting reasonably aggressive creates the most positive results, as in marketing, cancer treatments, and business startups. Those who take control of these situations, statistically experience more success than those who take a more passive approach. While this may be the case for medical advances and career strategies, the same approach does not work in relationships. Studies show that controlling relationships cause sadness, anger, mistrust, and insecurity. The only way to create a true, trusting relationship, is to build it slowly from the ground up.



Building Trust

If you want to build a trusting relationship, let go of the idea that you can 'make' anybody do anything. The only way to successfully foster trust is by being consistent, honest, supportive, fair, respectful, and sensitive to your partner's feelings. Controlling behavior only damages passionate love and mutual friendship. A successful partner may have such desirable traits as confidence and strength, but they should not attempt to use these as advantages to rule over a weaker partner -- telling them where they should work, or which friends they should hang out with. They may think they have their best interest at heart, but they don't.



Instead, the strong partner must practice humility and self control, considering their partner's needs before their own. The weaker partner must learn to express their needs to the more aggressive partner, working to balance the relationship and putting each other on equal ground. They can do this by expressing their needs in the relationship, such as more help with chores, or more time spent with friends.



The Final Word

Don't fall into the trap of thinking a true soulmate will meet all your needs, and more importantly, that they should know what you need without input. A trusting relationship is built from open communication, the acceptance of each others' faults, and the determination to work on those faults to improve the quality of the relationship.



When you think of trust in your relationship, think of it in terms of a long and steady race. There is no shortcut. But a little advice -- don't focus so much on the finish line, but rather the journey in getting there!

Painting a rock for manifestation

I Kenny Wenny Penny came up with a brand new idea today as I was watching the wee ones painting. They picked up rocks and started to use their paints on the rocks and the sand and anything else they could find. They even tried to paint my sister's tail! But I ramble.

Here is the point. The rocks looked great to me and I thought wouldn't that be great for my Kittens out here trying to start a new cycle and manifest something great. Here is my idea and what you need.

1. A rock
2. Paint
3. A thought or desire

Instructions:
Paint what you see in your mind onto the rock. Put all the color and all the detail onto the rock with the paint.

Remember it doesn't have to look good. The idea is to get you to see the desire and manifest it. The more tools you have the better you will become on manifesting what you desire.

So go find a rock and paint it!

The year's most powerful times to bring healing and balance to relationships occur on the Spring and Fall Equinoxes. That's when the equal days and nights bring the universal masculine and feminine forces into balance on earth. In the spring, this occurs between March 20 and 22, and in the fall from September 20 to 22.



Universal energies are seen as having both masculine and feminine elements in many mythologies worldwide, opposites whose dual presence is required to bring the Universe into a state of harmony and balance. The Taoist Chinese symbol for yin and yang, with its swirling, almost-touching curves of black and white, each with a dot of its opposite at the heart, is probably the most popular image that illustrates this concept. Black and white in this context are not about good and evil. Rather, they are balancing and necessary forces, like day and night.



Yin and Yang in Psychology

Psychologist Carl Jung and popular mythologist Joseph Campbell believed that myths and stories of gods, goddesses, heroes, and villains reveal universal truths and illustrate how to achieve emotional maturity and personal well being. Jung believed the mythical gods and heroes actually exist in the collective unconscious, and affect individuals and the world at large.



According to Jung, the psyche of every woman contains a balancing male presence called the animus, just as men's inner landscapes contain the feminine anima. These presences appear in dreams and can dramatically affect your relationships with the opposite sex.



Bringing the polar opposite in your own psyche into full maturity and psychological health is probably the most empowering thing you can do on either Equinox.



Spring's Myths

In seasonal mythologies, the god or masculine force appears full-grown at the Spring Equinox. He is a warrior armored with the Sun, full of vigor and fertility. The goddess or feminine force enthusiastically welcomes of her mate and equal. Between the Equinox and Beltane (May 5), they do a courtship dance, consummating their relationship on Beltane, and emerging fully mature at the Summer Solstice, the mythical King and Queen of Earth and Heaven.



Preparing for Your Meditation

Because the god is associated with increasing light and energy, Spring and Summer are the best times to attend to the animus, or, for men, your innate masculinity. Before you do the meditation, think about these things:



The Spring Equinox is an opportunity for women to go within and conjure your inner masculine or animus as the most self-actualized, compelling, protective, strong, and responsible being you can imagine.



For men, this is the time to dig deep into your experience, personal history, dreams, and imagination, resurrecting and creating high and far-reaching values and ideals, which motivate you to expand and grow as a man.



Equinox Meditation

The meditation itself is simple. Find a quiet and relaxing space, get comfortable, and go within. Now, focus on your heart chakra, and see within the presence of your inner, gender-based being and your anima or animus inhabiting your heart space. Notice their relative positions, the strength of each one's energy, and how they relate to each other.



Next, imagine that you have placed all the wonderful things you've created for your inner masculine entity in a golden bowl. Imagine yourself stepping into your heart chakra and pouring all of the powerful energy, ideas, and feelings you've created into him through the top of his head. Then see him expanding, becoming more light-filled, clearer, energetic, and vivid. Tell yourself, and him, that this expanded state is permanent, and that he will continue to be expanded by the energies you have poured into him.



Now, step back and look at your inner masculine and feminine presences together. Do they match? Are they suitable for each other? Will they support and enhance each other as they help you navigate your day-to-day world? If not, allow your inner Wise Being to consider how they may be brought into balance by deepening and strengthening the feminine, and use those insights in your Fall Equinox meditation.



Believing is Seeing

Was it author Wayne Dyer who first said "believing is seeing?" Whoever said it, it is true that a change in your beliefs automatically and immediately begins the process of change in your daily life. The process of imagining and balancing with your ideal animus or anima will have a profound effect on your relationships, as well as your inner life.

Distressed homing pigeon

We had a bedraggled white pigeon -- we believe a homing pigeon -- come to our door two years ago. She literally pecked on the door and waited until we let her in. She lives in our home in a large cage. She doesn't want to be out of the cage, nor does she want us to bother her. She will step up on my hand, but only for brief periods of time. She spends all of her time just sitting in the back of her cage on one of her perches.



She seems healthy enough -- she is just not that interested in us. When I talk to her, she clearly pays attention and sometimes will reward me with a coo. She doesn't like my husband at all. When she doesn't want to be bothered, she will try to bite us or hit us with her wings. (We assume she is female, but suspect really a male.) Is there anything we can do to make our pigeon happier? She isn't interested in toys and things -- just hanging out on her perch. I mix her food for max nutrition and she likes it, especially brown rice.

Thanks for writing. My Spirit Guide is telling me that your pigeon is indeed female. And, yes, she was a homing pigeon, which is why she is a little temperamental -- she is use to working. She doesn't play with toys because she was trained strictly for homing and doesn't know how. Her handler was a man, who treated her not very gently. This is why she's sensitive to your husband.



She is very happy and content in your home. She feels secure in the cage. It's just her personality. How to make her happier: try slowly allowing her on the table ... I suspect that she will enjoy walking around a little bit. Put some treats next to and on top of a new toy, and she might come around to playing.



The reason she bites and hits sometimes is because her left eye is very sensitive. Try putting her closer to the window.

Candle-burning for love

I read your recent article entitled 'Engineer Your Destiny,' which included the use of candles for positive affirmations. Can I use candles for love? How do you suggest I manifest love -- is it even possible to do so?

Sabrina,

Most of us have performed a simple act of candle magic by the time we are three years old ... blowing out the candles on our birthday cake while making a wish! Rather than creating a candle ritual to make a certain person fall in love with you, you will be more successful in your undertaking if you perform a candle ritual to make yourself more attractive to others. Not only will this ultimately achieve your desire of having a partner, but it will also establish or enhance your self-confidence, which is the foundation of a new relationship. People ridden with self-doubt and insecurities are simply no fun to be around.

So get ready to build your confidence, and at the same time, attract that twin flame. Start by selecting two red candles. (For this ritual, I suggest the tall, glass-enclosed candles, often found in grocery stores in the Latin food section.) Once you have purchased your ritual candle, it should be anointed before burning. For this particular exercise, I suggest rose oil for love-drawing. Before lighting the candles, anoint the wick with rose oil. The purpose of anointing a candle is to establish a psychic link between the candle and you. Handling the candle during the anointing process creates a charge with our personal energy and programs the desires of your ritual into the candles.

Next, follow this four-step process:

1. Identify the Candles

One of these candles will represent you, and the other will represent your desired partner.

Take a moment reflecting on your personal strengths and the fabulous qualities you will offer in a relationship. Are you fun-loving? Financially stable? Beautiful? A great kisser? Write it down on a piece of paper. Allow for time to dwell in the confidence you begin to feel when identifying your assets.

On a second piece of paper, identify and list the qualities you seek in an imaginary partner. What would you create if you could sculpt the dream partner in a relationship? An athletic physique? Good listener? Tall? Passionate lover?

2. The Magnetism Begins

Select an altar, table-top, or dresser, and set the candles at the two farthest ends of the table, one to the left, and the other to the far right, where they will remain for approximately a month. Under one candle, place the list identifying your qualities, and underneath the other candle, place the list of the desired partner's. Light the candles, and allow them to burn while concentrating on your desires. Visualize the union between you and your partner. Allow time for the candles to briefly burn while stating your prayers, then extinguish the candles, leaving them on the table.

3. The Attraction Grows

On the following day, begin the exercise by taking one candle in your left hand, and the other in your right hand, slightly move the candles closer together, feeling the magnetism as you inch them closer. Light the candles and repeat the visualization exercises and focus on the desired outcome, attracting the partner who you identified on paper. When finished, remember to extinguish the candle.

4. The Two Become One

After repeating this exercise for several days, or possibly a month, depending on the distance between the candles and how slow you move them, the two candles will have eventually been moved together, where they are touching, creating the appearance of a twin flame. As you walk out your front door each morning, create that feeling of attraction as you remember the list of personal qualities you created and are ready to offer in a relationship. Walk confidently each day, knowing that love is just around the corner.

The often troublesome pitfall of candle magic is not doing it each day. It is unbelievable what excuses we can come up with, or doubts we can allow to come into our thoughts that interfere with something as simple as lighting a candle each morning. Keep in mind that your focus and devotion to this small task will be rewarded with magnificent results.

I want to start a new blessing of money way for all the Kittens out there. I want you to find a coin or paper money that you want to use to give away to people. I say use the lowest monetary division, like here in the USA ours is the penny.

Here is how to do it:

1. Find the coin you wish to use.

2. Use your currency signs. Here in the USA that is the dollar and the cent¢ signs.

3. On the front where you see the face or you know it is the front, trace the dollar sign and say,’ Bless you (penny, nickel, dime, quarter or half dollar) for your abundance in my life!’

4. On the back side trace the cent sign and say,’ Thank you for all you have done for me this day. For the next person you meet bless them as abundantly as me.’

5. Give it away to a charity, another person, or an event, but give it to someone. Don’t use it to pay for anything, just give it away. Give it to a random stranger even. Whatever or whoever you give it to remember you are giving them a blessing.

Once you get used to doing this, you will find that abundance and blessings come back to you. Don’t do this like you have to. The universe knows when you are charitable and when you are not. It has to be done in good faith.

We have a 5 day. This is our window. Remember when a door closes a window opens. Look upon the horizon and see what you have been missing. You have a 9 in the day itself so as far as days go this is the end of that cycle. We will be closing something today and using our window of opportunity to seize it. 5 gets some energy from mercury so communications could be key. Happy St. Patrick’s day to all. May your pot of gold be refilled to the brim.

Abundance checks.

Abundance checks are a tool we can use to create more abundance in our lives. They are written within 24 hours after a New Moon.
There is a traditional manner, which has been handed down, that must be followed. If you do not have a checking account you can draw a check on a piece of paper and fill it out the same way-the results will be the same, more abundance for you.

Here's how to do them:
1.) Within 24 hours after a New Moon, take a check from your check book. Where it says "Pay to," write your name.
2.) In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a dollar amount write "Paid in full."
3.) On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a dollar amount, write "Paid in full." (It works better if you don't add the squiggly line.)
4.) Sign the check: " The Law of Abundance"

Do not put a date on the check. Do not write a specific dollar amount in the check. Put in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe will take it from there.

Many people are skeptical about trying this until they do it. After the first time they realize the power of these checks and do them foutinely every month! try it yourself and see!
