The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region is looking for the person caught on surveillance video tossing a Chihuahua from their vehicle at a 7-11.
The dog was abandoned in the parking lot of a 7-11 on West Colorado Avenue on January 29th about 6:45 p.m., according to the Humane Society.
According to a news release from the Humane Society the dog was pushed from a large, white SUV with unidentified plates. The puppy tried briefly to run after the car before being safely retrieved by a customer.
Anyone with information is asked to call 719-473-1741. The puppy is currently in the care of a foster home, and is unavailable for adoption.
Animal abandonment is a crime of cruelty which is taken very seriously by HSPPR. Pet owners must be responsible for their animals.
